Yesterday was splendid. We got in to Grimsey Island at 2 am and crashed out. In the morning a walk to the north. The island absolutely teeming with bird life. We crossed the Arctic Circle near the north tip, then jumped into the sea to celebrate.

Then 30 miles away to Siglufjordur, passing many whales & dolphins. Humpbacks and, we think, fin whales.

A large cod taken at the mouth of the fjord for supper at the dock.

Today we found a thin rebar sticking out of concrete, cut it off, hammered it to shape, and finally cleared out the outtake pipe. A feat reminiscent of Coronado & Pizarro, the conquerors of Mexico and Peru. Future crew, as well as present,  will be pleased.

Off shortly to the fjords on the north edge of Jokulfjordur, north Westfjords. A wonderful & comfortable wilderness.

.Glad I can now reach you. All well with me. Great to have Sydney's company; we went to the Africa museum today, which I found much improved since we were there. Much love. Please let me know when you''re back.
