Trip this year is to the Arctic, north and west of Iceland.

East Greenland

First month: Clifden, west Ireland - Faeroes - Jan Mayen Land - west a day into the ice field of East Greenland - remote fjords on the north side of Jokulfjordur, NW Iceland - Isafjordur. Crew change.

Second month: Isafjordur to East Greenland - accessibility to coast as indicated by Danish ice charts  available online. Points of interest - Scoresbysund and Kangerlusuaq Fjord. South of Iceland to Clifden.

Myself: sailed over 50 years. 6 sails to Iceland, once each to Jan Mayen & East Greenland. Am accustomed to handling Teddy alone - have soloed Ireland - Iceland round trip.

Crew: For the first leg, Josh Scarrow (New Zealand) and Hue Tran (UK). Josh has solid sailing skills, and both are Antarctic vets. For the second leg, Darren Johnston (Ontario, Canada), and Diego Lopez (Spain); both have moderate sailing skills.

Boat: Teddy, built in Denmark 30 years ago, is a formidably strong steel ketch. Insulated and with two stoves for heat, she is suitable for the cold.
LOD - 39 feet
LWL - 36 feet
Draft - 6 foot
16 tons
Very long keel.
Teddy steers herself just by setting the sheets. A most unusual quality in today's sailboats, and most convenient.
